Andreah Briarmoon, David Henke, Kathy Voskuil, Richard Ellingson, Karl Dommershausen, Yuri D. Rashkin and Tom McDonald. The election will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, and the polls are open from 7AM - 8PM. If you are a new resident, you may register to vote at the City Clerk-Treasurer's Office in the Municipal Building (18 N. Jackson St.) or at your voting ward on Election Day. In order to register, you must be a United States Citizen, 18 years or older on Election Day, and a Janesville resident for ten or more days. Your driver's license or State ID card number (if you have never been issued a driver's license or State ID card, then your Social Security Number may be used) and identification that shows your current address is required for registration. If you have recently moved, you may register in person at the City Clerk-Treasurer's Office (18 N. Jackson St.)

Janesville is divided into 32 wards. If you do not know which ward you live in, contact the Clerk-Treasurer's Office at 608-755-3073, or visit the City of Janesville website at www.ci.janesville.wi.us.

Parks and Open Space Plan Meeting Rescheduled for February 19

On February 19, the City of Janesville will hold a public meeting regarding an update to the City’s Parks and Open Space Plan. This meeting will take place at the Municipal Building Council Chambers (18 N. Jackson Street) from 6:30-8PM. This meeting was previously scheduled for earlier in February, but was rescheduled for February 19 due to inclement weather.

The Parks and Open Space Plan includes an inventory of parkland, open space, and recreational facilities within the City and provides recommendations for the acquisition, maintenance, and development of the system. Preparation of an update to the existing plan is being conducted at this time. This meeting is intended to generate public participation and obtain feedback from the community on future needs of the park and recreation system for the City of Janesville.

During this meeting, a brief overview of the plan will be presented with a public input session to follow. Attendees may be asked to participate in small group discussion to gain more direct input on specific issues or areas of concern.

For questions or to provide comments before the meeting, please call the Park Division office at 755-3025.
