Janesville Election Info:

(Ed.note: From the City press release:

Republican Party (in ballot order): Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson, Tom Tancredo, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Uninstructed Delegation.

The Presidential Preference Primary provides direction to the Wisconsin delegates of the two major political parties at their national conventions. The candidates for Janesville City Council are (in ballot order): Kevin Bishop, Billy R. McCoy, George Mark, Kelly O'Brien, K. Andreah Briarmoon, David Henke, Kathy Voskuil, Richard Ellingson, Karl Dommershausen, Yuri D. Rashkin and Tom McDonald. The five candidates with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated and the remaining six candidates' names will appear on the April 1, 2008 ballot.

The election will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, and the polls are open from 7AM - 8PM. If you are a new resident, you may register to vote at the City Clerk-Treasurer's Office in the Municipal Building (18 N. Jackson St.) or at your voting ward on Election Day.
